SWWA is dedicated to the professional operation
and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities.
The SWWA is an organization made up of persons involved in the
operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of water and wastewater
systems, and their related components. Types of members range from
the village maintenance person, to the town public works
employee, to the full-time water or wastewater plant operator or
manager.
If you have any operational problems, there are many members and
services to which you can turn for advice or assistance.

Safety Awareness in Water and Wastewater Work Shop

The deadline for registration for this work shop is approaching fast!
Safety in Water and Wastewater will provide the attendee with a certificate
in WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems) from the SCSA (
Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association). H2S awareness will
be discussed and a review of trenching regulations will be covered.
Deadline for registration is February 15th, 2012

Lift Station Operation and Maintenance Work Shop

This workshop is aimed at operators of small wastewater lift stations. Operation, maintenance
and troubleshooting of end-suction submersible sewage pumps will be explained. A number
of small (2.5HP) end-suction pumps will be disassembled and reassembled, and pump rating
will be demonstrated.

Proper Sampling Techniques Work Shop

Chlorine Gas Safety and Cylinder Mount Work Shop

This one-day work shop is aimed at operators of water/wastewater systems
where chlorine gas is dispensed with a cylinder-mount vacuum chlorinator.
Theory, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of cylinder mount
chlorinators will be discussed.
The Chlorine Gas Safety and Cylinder Mount Work Shop is offered at two
locations. Registraion deadline for the work shop in Wakaw is February 1, 2012 and the deadline
for the work shop in Melville is March 1st.
