A key component of any successful certification program is a valid, reliable, and fair assessment. ABC provides cost-effective, nationally validated standardized exams as a key member benefit, and our Association is in need of your help to ensure these exams represent the membership and meet the highest industry standards.
ABC will be conducting Passing Score Studies on newly developed water treatment, distribution, and collection exam forms prior to their release later this year. We are in need of certified operators who represent the depth, breadth, and scope of the industry to serve on the panels of subject matter experts who will conduct the studies.
Passing Sore Study participation provides a unique opportunity for certified operators to shape the next generation of ABC certification exams and, more importantly, to protect the public health and environment by ensuring that ABC certification exams administered across North America appropriately distinguish between candidates who are minimally competent and those who are not.
Volunteer benefits include:

Overview
The Passing Score Studies allow ABC to establish passing scores that differentiate between certification candidates who are competent and deserving of certification and those who are not. To do this, ABC must call on volunteers who represent the depth, breadth, and scope of the profession to participate in discussion and activities that will result in a passing standard recommendation and expectations of exam performance.
Commitment
Volunteers will participate in a series of activities requiring a total of approximately 6-9 hours. Scheduled activities include a brief brainstorming assignment, two webinars, and the rating of test items through an online exam interface.
Volunteers must be available during the scheduled webinar times for their certification category.
