Purpose of the award
Established by the SWWA executive in 1988 to recognize excellence as a water and/or wastewater operator. Two awards will be presented annually: one for populations of 1,000 or less, the other for populations exceeding 1,000.
Nominations
Nominations can be made by: Mayors, Aldermen, Administrators, City/Town Engineers, City/Town Superintendents or Foremen, fellow employees. The nominator will be required to submit written documentation to the selection committee as soon as possible. Deadline is October 15 of each year.
Eligibility
The nominee must be a member of SWWA or affiliate organization and must be certified by the Operator Certification Board. The nominee can be full or part time operator employed by a municipality or industrial water/wastewater utility.
Award Presentation
The Dale Heshka (over 1,000 population) and the Dave Clark (less than 1,000 population) Operator of the Year Awards will be presented at the annual SWWA Conference.
