Safety in Water and Wastewater will provide the attendee with a certificate in WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems) from the SCSA ( Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association). Transportation of Dangerous Goods will be reviewed covering the responsibilities of the transporter and the individual receiving goods under this legislation. H2S awareness will be discussed and a review of trenching regulations will be covered. In the afternoon there will be a review of Confined Space legislation and a hands-on portion using and calibrating a gas monitor. Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) use and care will be discussed as well as the requirements of an Occupational Health and Safety Committee – when you are required to have one and how to set one up.
